School buses become rolling billboards in Cumberland County
Cumberland County School District is getting creative. They’re using their school buses as rolling billboards and making profit off of the advertisements.
The district will not receive a chunk of federal funds this year from the McKinney Vento Act, aimed at providing resources for the county’s homeless children.
The 40 ads that they’ve sold so far will make up for about half of the $22,000 loss.
Advertisements on Muscogee County school buses could bring the district extra money
COLUMBUS, Ga. - One Muscogee County School Board member is researching an idea that would turn the big yellow school bus into a money-making machine.
Board Member Mark Cantrell said placing advertisements on buses could drive a lot of money into the district. He said it’s just brainstorming and gathering the facts right now, but he’s interested in getting feedback from the community.
